This study on pole trawling was done with the goal of giving some clarification about a theoretically prohibited fishing technique that is little used in France. However, fishermen from some countries routinely practice pole trawling authorised at the European level, which poses a few problems from the point of view of French regulations, and it is on an exempt basis that this technique is used by some boats in Brittany and Normandy, but the only large fleet that is practising pole trawling intensively by using boat booms is based in Dunkerque's harbour. It is the reason for which we studied the Dunkerque fleet's activity and operation; the technical aspect of the trawl was described at length. The contentious situation brought on by the practise of this type of fishing was analysed, as well as its regulation. The affect of the pole trawl on the sea bottom was also addressed. Carrying out this study led me to go on board a few of Dunkerque's various pole trawls, among which a new, very modern boat, "The Johnathan", also described in the report. Making the connection among all the elements that were studied will thus allow us to evaluate the situation and have a more global view of the "pole trawling phenomenon" in France. Cette étude sur le chalutage à perche a été réalisée dans le but d'apporter quelques éclaircissements sur une technique de pêche théoriquement interdite et peu répandue en France. Cependant, les pêcheurs de certains pays pratiquent couramment le chalutage à perche autorisé au niveau européen, ce qui pose quelques problèmes au point de vue de la réglementation française et c'est sur base dérogatoire que cette technique est employée par quelques bateaux en Bretagne et en Normandie, mais la seule flottille importante pratiquant intensément le chalutage à perche au moyen de tangons est basée au port de Dunkerque. C'est la raison pour laquelle nous avons étudié l'activité et le fonctionnement de la flottille dunkerquoise ; l'aspect technique du chalut a été longuement décrit. La situation conflictuelle occasionnée par la pratique de cette pêche a été analysée ainsi que sa réglementation. L'influence du chalut à perche sur le fond a également été traitée. La réalisation de ce travail m'a amené à effectuer quelques embarquements à bord de différents chalutiers à perche de Dunkerque dont un bateau neuf très moderne « le Johnathan » également décrit dans le rapport. Le rapprochement entre tous ces éléments étudiés nous permettra ainsi de faire le point et d'avoir une vue plus synthétique sur le "phénomène chalut à perche" en France. [OCR NON CONTRÔLE]
